If you’re an Australian Defence Force member that is currently serving, has previously served full-time or in a reserve capacity, you can add five adjustment factors to your ATAR (or equivalent) and increase your selection ranking.
How to apply
Applying is easy. Upon applying through UAC, answer yes to ‘Are you a current or former member of the Australian Defence Forces’.
In the degrees section, enter your Defence Force rank under 'Professional registration/degrees' and your Defence Force experience under 'Employment experience' and provide supporting documentation detailing your level of experience with the Australian Defence Force.
If applying direct to Western also enter your Defence Force rank under 'Professional registration/degrees' and your Defence Force experience under 'Employment experience' and provide supporting documentation.
Documents may include:
- Statements of rank or service statements
- Program and degrees certificates
- Statements detailing operational, exercise or relevant work experience.
Providing documentation is vital as admissions will not apply adjustment factors to applications without supporting documentation.
Please note: Australian Defence Force adjustment factors are not available for all courses.
What happens if you qualify for another Adjustment Factors Scheme?
If you qualify for Subject Adjustment Factors, Regional Adjustment Factors, the Elite Athletes or Performers Scheme and the Educational Access Scheme, these can be in addition to your ADF bonus points noting the maximum number of adjustment factors you can receive is 10.
